Paint | My buddy Marc and I painted this w/ Auto Air Colors black and then did "sparkle copper" scallops. Pinstriping was done by Moe @ the Lil' Hog Shop in Rochester, NH. |
I really wanted a bare bones, bad ass ride, and the mutant really came through. Everywhere I ride I turn heads.
This was the first time either of us had attempted anything like this, and I have to say it went very smoothly. We learned alot along the way about welding and metal working, as well as the ins and outs of painting a bike.
Some of our custom touches include the sissybar (bent from a piece of 5/8" roundstock picked up at the Home Depot and polished), the license plate bracket and the coil mount. My favorite though, I think is the seat: I scored a few of those mattress pads people use for under their sleeping
bags while camping and carved them into shape. For the leather, we went to the Salvation Army and picked up an old leather jacket. Total investment: about $10.
I'm hoping to sell this one and build another very soon... so if anyone's interested email me at mutantbuell@gmail.com and I'll give you the details.
Thanks again,
Nate
